Unassigned claims
injury date in no term
Workers’ comp runs on the policy period, not the calendar year. A claim files under the term containing its injury date, which is a different question from which calendar-year 300 Log its case appears on — both come from the same injury date, neither from the other. Terms can’t overlap, so every injury date falls in at most one. Coverage ends as the expiration date begins, so terms that share a renewal date are consecutive rather than overlapping.
